The way you describe smells makes me think you might be slightly autistic. There was this fellow on tv nicked named the human calculator who could remember huge numbers in his head and could calculate difficult formulas in his head. He saw numbers differently. He would associate every number in existence with texture and color. He never knew why he just did. Turned out he was autistic but he managed to hold on to the part of his mind that controls the ability to socialize.
