Title: I Remembered
Poet:
rin_no_himitsu A/N: ...I think this was around the time I tried to start writing poetry again. Feel free to interpret it however you like. (I'd love to hear them!) A note: The man was inspired by none other than Izaya Orihara. <3
I looked down at his new oak bed.
Flowers framed his ebony skin,
His expression - so peaceful, so kind:
Nothing like the devil within.
I remembered his boyish, stunning eyes;
Those crimson orbs, shining like stars (in the sky)
How terrifyingly honest they appeared to be
Urging me to believe his never-ending lies.
I remembered his perfectly messy hair,
That beautiful brown, not a hint of gray.
I remembered his deceivingly gentle smile,
Comforting my decision to stay.
I remembered the times I stayed up all night
Wondering where he went when he was out,
And waking up the next day to find
Him passed out on the couch.
I remembered his velvety smooth voice,
That lyrical lilt that spoke heavenly lies;
And how harsh it could become when he yelled at me-
And that always, right after that, there would be tears in my eyes.
I remembered his burning, fiery anger;
Only I saw his fury: he took it out on me, not you-
And the day after I witnessed his rage,
My body was decorated with black and blue.
I took in his forever-ethereal face,
Kissed him on his cheek, held back tears,
Remembered being together one last time,
And decided to forget.
