I am unclear why there isn't padding on all those steel posts on the luge run. Not that hitting a padded steel post at 80 mph is going to end well for you, but maybe he would have lived. I don't know.

All I know is that luge is incredibly dangerous and this track seems to be especially so. I prefer most of my Olympians alive. CALL ME CRAZY, I DARE

Why cant they cover the track with some kind of netting or something to keep them from flying out
