The Peeper Brigade

I guess it's not really a brigade when there's only one chicken being photographed. Nevertheless, Peeper Brigade has a nice ring to it, even if you don't get to see all the peepers.

How long do peepers live, generally, at the sanctuary? And do you have to keep them away from a lot of food, lest they grow too plump?

The oldest will turn five this year and the youngest will be turning two this year. Five is really old for these birds. They rarely make it past 1-2 years of age.

They are kept separate and are on a special, restricted diet.
