An ode to mina
Mina was about three years old when I started fostering her.
These are the things I know about her.
1. She lived somewhere without much sun.
2. She was not socialized around people properly.
3. She was running loose with a 4' belt, three inches thick wrapped around her neck.
4. She had not eaten well in at least 2 weeks.

It was so nice seeing you, Lou! There were cockroaches, bubble yum, a bottle and a half of wine, and really lovely conversation outside on the patio. I mean, could it get any better? NO. It was too difficult to get photos of the dolphins but a couple sea otters make an appearance. I wish the moment when a dolphin barreled and leaped through a wave was the moment I had my camera. Alas, it was not.

Mina and Her Wonky STomach
Some dogs drill a hole in your heart and, when you least expect it, wiggle that drill around. Just to hurt you, I think. Mina does this. She is my little heart dog, my spitfire, friend, source of endless amusement and frustration.

March/April Reads
7. Gone - Lisa McMann (3/21/10): In a word - satisfying. This is McMann's 3rd and final book in her wake trilogy about a girl who can catch dreams. McMann is a sparse writer. I ended up liking this style. There is good character development. This book was probably my favorite of the series.
