I'm almost done painting the garden figurines/pots of a squirrel, owl, 2 buckets, an urn, and the stand part of a birdbath.

I'm about halfway through 1984. I haven't really decided whether I like the book or not. I do like the concept of a "negative utopia" or whatever they call it. Winston though, he's just weird. Oh, and Julia is just so dumb! " ( Read more... )

Man. The three times that I've ever hung out with you I had fun...

You just need to get into town more often.

You've got friends who would give you a ride in if your parents won't.

The way everyone in Manistee gets together is just by being in the right place at the right time... And you're miles away from the right place...

Just stay over at Kathleen's or Kristen's more often and we'll get to see you a bit this summer...

Can I borrow 1984 when you're done with it?

Right on all accounts, especially the right time, right place thing. I can drive, I just don't have a car. If I did, I still wouldn't use it anyway because of gas and my parents wouldn't want me running all over town all the time.

I could let you borrow 1984, but it IS Solwold's/the school's and I don't know how I'd get it to you anyway.

Oh, I don't know, it could be just the people I'm with that make it fun. Maybe it's more that I have a different sort of humor than others, so jokes don't really cover all the bases.

I'm not taking AP English. Sowold never gave me any of the info for it, she just forgot I existed. Besides...I'd hate her closed-mindedness every day I was in the class. I am too used to Joseph. Sorry guys.

I thought you weren't. It's not that she forgot you existed, you probably just didn't go and see her. It does work both ways. I'm sort of dreading a whole year with her. Her voice just keeps playing over in my head, driving me nuts. The kind of voice she uses at the end of a poem or something really deep or witty. Sort of wispy, or "shushy." She gets this little annoying note to her voice and I hate it!

"We should hang out more" is about as meaningful as "How are you feeling?" or "I'll call you sometime." Ok now don't murder me, dearest, but after we spent an hour picking out my dresses and shoes and purses and crap for Venetian Week...well.. I bought three new dresses in california. so i see a trip to my house in your future.
