Today there has been almost nothing going on. We've seen episodes of Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother and Friends, and I've been catching up a little with The Archers and the goings-on in Ambridge. There has been a shock there, but I'm not game to spoil it here

Tonight I had a spoon of soup half way to my mouth when the news came. It seemed to stay there a inordinately long time. I think I prefer happy stories of lambs being born and the price of parsnips being discussed.
