Pumpkin guts and election results

Nov 03, 2004 20:59

So, I fell asleep while watching the election results. Oh well.

I should have learned by now that alcohol makes me sleepy.

And that pumpkin pie tastes better with whip cream--especially when the pie is homemade.

*drools* I had hinted that along with the homemade pumpkin pie we should have made homemade whip cream. But everyone protested. So that was noed.

Protested? People today do not know what they are missing. My dad always insists on the real thing...but then he grew up on a farm with cows...for him heavy whipping cream barely makes the cut.

There was one summer where milk prices fell so low that the farmers were dumping out the milk trying to drive up the prices. They had ice cream for every meal and butter on everything.

Of course, there was also the winter they were so poor they ate oatmeal for every meal. He still won't eat oatmeal...insists on Cream of Wheat.

Oh I know the deal with parents/grandparents refusing to eat a particular food. My grandfather, before he died, refused to eat chickens or turkeys. Because, during the depression, that was all there was to eat and so they ate the chicken, from foot to beak.

My other grandfather still refuses to eat casseroles for that very reason.

Heh, I have actually never had real milk straight from a cow.

I know people who hate the thought of whole milk. I love it. But I really don't think that I could eat it day in and day out or eat ice cream and butter every meal either.

Makes my heart cry out from pain.

I couldnt sleep all night. Then they declared Bush the winner and that Kerry had conceded. I was so excited that I fell asleep five minutes before Kerry's speech and missed out on Bush's as well.

*sigh*

Oh well...

Damn. That was a bummer. I was in class or at work (I am not sure which) when both happened. But I can always catch it on CSPAN.

I am just so pleased that we don't have Kerry.

I love it. Actually.

Now, young man, you had better get some sleep.

Good. Marvelous. I went to bed early too. Which was scary. It used never to happen when I was a freshman or sophomore. Now, if I am not in bed by 11, I feel miserable.
