Veteran's Day

Nov 11, 2009 05:07

Just wondering how many are going to thank our service men and women for serving to honor this nation by protecting our freedom both in peace time and at war?

I wonder if anyone will thank me for serving at peace time? When I wore my uniform one Veteran's day after I was out of the Corps, I got spat and jeered for being a "War monger" and "Child ( Read more... )

I appreciate everyone who does wear the uniform as I have not. I appreciate every hour they stand on a wall, wall a patrol or just train at a Base. Ronald Regan said it best. The best way to avoid a war is to be ultimatly ready for it.

Thank you Jeff. For ALL of those hours that turned into days that turned into years. So I could be safe and live free. So this country could be a beacon of freedom.

Your Welcomed!
For me, Ronald Reagan was the best President we had in my lifetime. He did a lot to raise this country up and give us a pride for being all Americans!
We definitely need someone who could take his staff and do the same.

I never even knew you were in the Marines! You never mentioned it before, or at least, not that I saw.

Thank you! :)

Four Years from 1974 to 78. To be honest with you, I was a lousy Marine! X))
But I still served and I have no regrets of serving this country. There were a lot of things in the Corps I regretted doing, such as demanding to be Corporal when I had no leadership skills, what so ever. But, one thing I did in the Corps that I have never regretted in my life was excepting God's love in my heart in a lonely Corporal of the Guard shack in November 22, 1977!

Thanks and Your welcomed! =)

Your Welcomed! In fact, I figured people would have realized I served in the Marines because I think I mentioned it in one of my LJ posts when I was in Comin' Home. Maybe not, I have to check out my archives when I get the chance! =)
Thanks! =)

Being in SAC, I never knew a moment everyone calls "Peacetime".

And there was no outpouring of good wishes for me or my father for our time in Hell, either.

I figured you were retired military but I didn't realize you were a Marine. Well, you know I'm a soldier but I have nothing but respect for marines simply because I have some idea how hard they have it...and how hard they work. So, thanks, from one military man to another.

Never realized you were military. My brother was in the Corps, and is now serving as a county sheriff in Maricopa County.

Thanks for serving our country, man.
