I don't often write in this journal anymore, and I especially don't write anything substantial, but I couldn't resist.I think to a certain extent that Debian is in a lot of ways process run amok. You need to have some sort of a process to scale. I mean, you go from one person to ten people, and that exposes a whole new set of issues. You go from

I've heard of that sort of result happening in various organisations before too.

Hey, did you have a truck firebombed in your neighbourhood recently? My sister said something about that happening in the south end recently. I think.

I hadn't heard of anything. Then again, I'm rather oblivious.

Actually, we've had a lot of controversial people win. Both Branden Robinson and Anthony Towns are not meek leaders. The fact that they were less than effective means that there are internal systems within Debian that inhibit change.

Switching voting systems is not going to solve this problem.
