Last time on ~It’s not gay if it’s on the Mississipppi~: Local garbage love interest Nicholas made Silver sit next to known waste of space Lee Bassinger during dinner, and it did not go over well to the utter surprise of absolutely no-one. Also, there was more sexual harrassment than you can shake a dick at. The same as every year, James.

Sadly, most of the images don't show for me - could be my connection or something with the coding, idk, but I feel like I'm missing out on some of the reactions that way =/
As a person who is at any rate a better Russian than any of the characters, I call bullshit on the bird furry fairy tale AND two endings especially because wtf. A more Russian ending - if it ever actually existed - would be along the lines of "And then he returned home to fame and riches, and married some no name, the end."
Now, real question. I had to look up "swoon" to make sure the action involves losing consciousness, because what :') Suspense aside, the dictionary mentiones that meaning - as "old-fashioned", but okay, still sounds more legit than seal-wet :') - though I'm still like ??? But that mostly sums up my entire state of mind as to this, so ¯\_(ツ)_ ( ... )

Oh no D': I know that the Spencer-Gif kept breaking upon uploading, but atm everything is working for me, both from mobile and browser, so it might be your connection..? You should try again, bc this post is very image heavy and I tried my best (barely) finding images to show my feelings :')
"And then he returned home to fame and riches, and married some no name, the end."
I got the impression that whole "no, russian fairytales all have one upbeat ending for the kids and one tragic one for the adults" bit was total BS, but glad to hear a bona fide expert confirm XD That much info wasn't on the postcard the author once saw.
I hope Valentin wants to keep his inheritance enough so that he never gets around to sending anyone XDDShabby Pilot: Are you sure Nicky ordered us to keep heading downstream and not wait for him ( ... )

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some older and darker versions of Russian fairy tales we all know and love (and there probably are), but the kids/adults distinction for a more or less contemporary and coherent story is bull as far as I'm concerned.
Valentin: Absolutely positive. Would I ever lie to you. Also, where do you keep your champagne? -- ah, if he just went with it and rolled into the sunset

Oh, sure, that's just how it is with folktales. Tumblr really loves the Hot Take(tm) that the Grimm brothers purposefully made the stories harsher and more gruesome bc they wanted to make kids obedient and in fact they were all more feminist and brighter (so Disney did nothing wrong!!!). And I'm like. Can u not :') Oversimplify oral tradition and 19th century paedagogics :') Aaaanyway, yeah, this distinction seems dumb.
He did in our hearts!!!
(Seriously though, reading these in reverse order was a good idea bc that way I don't have to dread that Valentin will turn out to be a rapist douche himself but instead can cheer up myself thinking he'll eventually run off with all of the Savron money, god bless his wine soaked soul)
