'Tis all quite random, but I was flicking through my cameraphone the other night and found some of the pictures I took of our crazy creations back in my Cooking Class this senior year. I forgot I had all these buggers sitting around! Just to taunt you all, everything was absolutely delicious.

I love taiyaki! Scrumptious red-bean and perfect bread simmering in my belly! And THOSE, good sir, those taiyaki are full of WIN. Someone needs to iconize and/or pull a macro out of these! ♥
But I seriously must say you pulled off a great job. I just happened to get lucky with the photos I pictured here and I had some awesome teammates and more than my share of failures in class. I hope you know just how hard it is to make taiyaki, even with the proper materials. You've got to estimate the right amount in paste and batter, have the bread batter level, time it so it doesn't char... grar!
That's why I just gorge myself on the precious fish bread when I'm in Korea. ;D

You. Me. Go to Korea RIGHT NOW.
... Or maybe I'll just try buying some for you when I visit the Korean market over the winter and find a way to ship it off to you still PIPING FRESH. It's the absolutely best thing in the world, next to my other favorite seasonal dish Pat Bing SooThe bread itself is pretty much very similar to a pancake; you can tell especially when you get the ice cream version (basically the same thing, save frozen and stuffed with both red beans/paste and vanilla ice cream inside). The hot version usually has a thicker crust, and when freshly made, it's lightly crisp on the outside and wonderfully fluffy and doughy inside. The paste has the tendency to ooze hot and thickly out when you chow down. Mmmmm ( ... )

And I HAVE read The Crimson Petal and the White! It IS good -- I read it, like, a year or more ago, so I can't really discuss it with you (details...fading...) BUT I remember the general stuff and I remember it was good!

AND OH GOD, YOU AREN'T HERE ANYMORE. WHY THE HELL DID YOU LEAVE US? And why didn't I join you?
Please keep us updated on your doings? I'm tottering over to your journal now. ;D
Michel Faber is amazing. He's definitely a pure favorite off my reading list and easily the first name off the top of my head if I ever had to run off some scrumptious authors. I used him for the English Senior Project (for Costello). ♥

It's only 2.0 Megapixels though, I do a lot of Photoshop editing to make sure it looks presentable. ;P
