A GAME.

So I haven't been posting recently, which is sort of a combo attack of Plurk eating my attention and life being . . . I don't want to say boring because I'm not BORED, but to other people it would probably be boring because it consists of a lot of "TODAY WE WENT TO GET CUPCAKES AND IT WAS CUPCAKE HAPPY HOUR! THEN I CLEANED THE KITCHEN SOME ( Read more... )

I apologize for ruining the game immediately. vaudevillainy February 2 2011, 04:08:45 UTC
one day a girl found a green dress in a secondhand store and she bought it because it was on sale and really pretty. when she bought it the saleslady was really relieved for some reason, she was all crying and shit. it was weird as hell, but whatever! cheap dress! score!
so the girl goes home and she puts on the dress and she is beautiful. she can't stop staring at herself in the mirror.
she stares and stares for hours and days.
she doesn't eat or sleep or poop or anything.
just admires her reflection.
her friends all came by and her family and her boyfriend and they begged her to go out and do something. anything. just stop staring at yourself please, but she didn't say anything because she was dead and a skeleton now.

and now she haunts the dress or something, whatever.

5132 ; Nokia 5132 XPress MusicYou know how sometimes, you go and you get that new phone, but it's an old number for someone else? So their old friends (well, "friends", the ones who weren't told about the updated number) keep calling you, looking for that guy. But you're pretty sure you're not Steve from Queens, and you're really sure you're not interested in helping Brian move his couch next weekend. And anyway, Brian really needs to start calling someone who cares, because if Steve doesn't want to listen to him cry at three am about how his girlfriend is "probably leaving him" for the eighth time in two weeks? You sure don't either ( ... )

Janie’s parents had bought the truck at an antique store, and that was how she learned that “antique” was a fancy word for “old.” More like “old and way too expensive,” because Janie had thrown away better dump trucks than that one and hadn’t gotten anything for them. The new-old truck had a name on it, and some flaking orange paint, and that was all; there was nothing special about it. It didn’t even have a motor like the one Matt had, and that one only cost half as much.

Janie’s dad wasn’t very happy when Janie brought that up.

He’d be really unhappy if he caught her playing with the stupid old truck, so she wasn’t going to get caught. She wasn’t even sure why she was bothering with it-maybe because it was so expensive. The only toy Janie had that was that expensive was her Kids Wheels, and she couldn’t play with that in the winter. And she’d never played with an antique before ( ... )

As she loaded up the dump truck, Janie thought about how old it was. She’d been surprised trucks even existed back then, she told her mother, who looked a little pained when she said it. Did they take away the snow back then? Janie wondered. Had this truck belonged to another boy or girl who was stuck inside on a snowy day without her Big Wheels while Mom and Dad were at work and wouldn’t let her do anything by herself? I’d be really mad if that was me.Stupid Mom and Dad ( ... )

She looked at the clock as she worked. The big hand was past the four, so Dad should be home soon, even with all the snow on the road, but it was too sad to just leave Billy buried like that. Lisa’s little plastic hands could only manage a few flakes of snow at a time. Janie decided it was because she was crying too hard to see what she was doing ( ... )
