Aug 08, 2006 17:19

Now for a super-special extra report from the headquarters of Rinoaland, this is

I know what I did last summer, or, How I learned to stop worrying and love the burnout.

Yes, I'm actually telling. Not showing, though. How bad of me. )

*waves frantically*

You're back! Whee! And with fantastic news. I seeth with jealousy. On the work front, you'll have to make sure to do something completely mindless and relaxing when it's all done. Treat yourself.

As for me, I've officially graduated with a 2:1. Yay! Now I'm on the job hunt and considering a PhD. My love life, having previously failed to really get going, is now insisting on sucking ass to teach me for whining about its inexistence. Oh, and my muse is missing. Evil creature.

But yay, the wanderer returns. Welcome back! *rugby-tackle hugs you*

Whoot, a tackle hug!

Don't worry, I'm gonna get totally plastered when I'm done ^_^

Congrats on graduating, that's awesome! I'm still working my way to that, should get it done this year. And woe for muses mia and relationship tangles *sadface*

I was wondering where you were last night.

Summer's over? Surely not yet. Then again it may be snowing in Finland by now.

Congratulations on becoming an international guestlister!

In Finland, summer holidays have traditionally ended in August. These days though the season has extended somewhat so that many people are vacationing "late". Also, the weather's been staying warm longer each year it seems. Thanks, global warming!

Heeeey nice to see you. Your icon. Uh, cyber-Penny. Yeah, I'll go with that. *gratuitious hugs*

Wow, all of that's awesome. :) Congratulations!

Only during July I've driven over 2 500 miles, spent only four nights in a hotel and generally been teetering on the brink of complete exhaustion. I've loved the actual work, most of the time, but as soon as I get home I'm so wiped out and effectively braindead.

When I read this first, I thought, "Is Rinoa driving around Finland in a shiny black Impala killing ghosts and hunting demons...?"

Hay thar, and thanks! Hope you're doing fine too.

No black shiny Impala, just a neat blue Ford Focus TDCI. Perhaps not as glamorous, but the GPS, awesome air conditioning and loads of flattened flies on the windscreen add a little je ne sais quo, I think.

But of course there's been ghosts and demon hunting.

Cool, sounds fun. And I'm glad you can squeeze in a little demon hunting on the side. XP

That's pretty sweet! Have lots of fun!

As for me, uh...I got a job as a portrait photographer, and I'm currently attending the Art Institute for photography. And that's pretty much been my life. D:

Yay! Cool beans on the journalism thingie (fear my eloquence!), that's so cool.

My summer? My summer is kicking my ass. And it's still summer here, dammit - there are still green blackberries out my door! There isn't even any decent (note that my standards have dropped from 'good' to 'decent') fic for my fandom of choice, which is just depressing, considering the output was better than this even just four months ago. o_x; Why can't these fangirls appreciate that I need to read something besides my own fic? And that I can't cover for their slacking?? XD;

Eloquence schmeloquence, cool beans is a perfectly cromulent expression.

I still haven't picked the berries growing in my own yard. As far as summer the actual weather and crop related season goes, it's still going strong here too, but the summer as in vacation season is pretty much over in here. Yeah, weird.

Happy fic hunting, hope you strike some gold for change.
