...I'm enrolled in the last semester of my undergraduate career. Barring any unforeseen circumstances (I do have one last degree check scheduled for next week...), I will be graduating with Honors and a major in Astrophysics in the Spring of 2007. Yikes.
PHYS 4300 002 Senior Research Project (second semester)
- This is where I'll continue to do observing nights, when the weather cooperates, to take data on some asteroids, plot their light curves and determine their properties.
HSCI 3023 002 History of Science Since the 17th Century (honors)
- I needed an upper division western civilization credit for gen ed as well as more honors hours. This was the class that fit the bill. As far as I know,
beetlebush will be joining me in this excursion. ^^
JAPN 1115 001 Beginning Japanese
- As far as graduating is concerned, I just needed to fill some hours. I really only needed three, but the last time I got to study Japanese was the 6th grade, so this should be fun. Also, Roommate will be joining me as well as another fellow physics student and a couple of people he knows. I'm guessing it may be somewhat like my high school German I class as my good friends
buttsexisbad and
erikexclamation were in there with me. What I don't look forward to about this class is buying the enormously expensive introductory textbook. With the exception of the reprinted physics E&M text we used last year, my introductory Italian text is by and far the most expensive textbook I've ever had to buy.
and last in this list, but certainly not least ^^
MUNM 4210 001 Beatles Seminar (honors)
- This class looks to be the most exciting by far. There are two texts concerning the Beatles and a ton of required / recommended listening. The class itself consists of a 10 page research paper and three exams and deals with the Beatles' music and influence on society. Also required is attendance at the 1964 Tribute concert, which I will certainly solicit people to come along and enjoy. (For graduation purposes, I needed this class to fulfill a last hour of honors credit requirement.)
That being said, I encourage anyone looking for honors credit who likes the Beatles to enroll in the Beatles Seminar. There should be a dozen or more spots left and all that is required is Junior standing and being an honors student.
I'll probably be posting something about last night's Halloween party later, needless to say, Physics students have more fun!
