why do you think I still haven't gotten a new console, other that the TV factor.

Games in the last few years stopped being about story, content, control, depth, design, originality, and most of all heart. It's all about the shiny

As the market grows the industry will go the route of every industry will follow with growth, answering to shareholders, playing the safe profitable development of games (i.e. FPSs, and regular selling and established franchises)) It's the main reason 2D virtually died and the end of the 20th century. Because like I've said, 2D is viewed as a disease, not an art-style of games

I agree wholeheartedly with what you wrote. I still consider almost all of my top five favorite games to be 2D rpgs from the days of SNES. I am a huge fan of story based games (one of the reasons I love Uncharted so much and why I was able to get into Call of Duty 4 over all the "there's an alien, kill it" games). I feel that today they are just producing FPS's that have no storyline and have the same gameplay as the one released last year, but with improved graphics. I really don't care for graphics. I am glad Mega Man 9 is coming out. I am ecstatic that Disgaea 3 is coming out. Those are the sames I want to play. Games that are FUN. Not games with state of the art graphics that lack the basic fun factor ( ... )
