WHY. WHY OF ALL THE FONTS IN THE UNIVERSE, DID THEY CHOOSE PAPYRUS???? (there's a font called Universe! THEY COULD HAVE USED THAT!) Serenity is neither a locally owned pottery business, nor a 5th grader's report on ancient Egypt, so there is no reason for it. She deserves better.

re: the Joss Expectation, that's what I'm worried about with Buffy, because I haven't seen it yet and I know it's a Big Deal for all fandoms everywhere, but I don't want to be disappointed either. I plan on watching it as soon as all the normal shows go on hiatus around May, but I probably won't advertise it until I've gotten a good start. I just don't want everyone to be the metaphorical guy that keeps looking at me to make sure I laugh and cry in the right places. TOO MUCH PRESSURE.

I had a quite different experience to most people in that I saw Serenity first and then went back and watched Firefly. I feel like my opinions on different characters were shaped a lot differently that way - I certainly shipped different things coming out of the movie than I ship now that I've seen it all more than once. But I'm fortunate that it made Wash's incident (that TOTALLY DIDN'T HAPPEN) a little less painful. Though he had already become my favorite by that point in the movie. Sigh. Joss, why you gotta be like that?

I haven't seen Buffy either, so I totally know what you mean! I'm a little nervous to watch it myself (also because there are so many seasons, it's a big undertaking).

Oh interesting! Yeah, I can definitely imagine how that would be a very different viewing experience, especially knowing so much more about River than what you get from the series. What are your main ships, if you don't my asking? I'm such a n00b that idk what anyone ships beyond canon stuff for this, lol. also, Joss is the worst. >:(

I've never really shipped anything extensively in the fandom, and I am not at all the norm, but my favorites (other than canon) alternated between Jayne/River or Jayne/Simon mostly, though I never found particularly good fic so it never went anywhere. Coming out of just the movie though, I figured Mal/River was a big thing, because they have their moment at the end and whatnot, but I quickly discovered they don't have much basis before that. Of the canon ships, Kaylee/Simon was my instafave because of their focus in the movie, but Zoe/Wash is my favorite now. (ALTENDING ALWAYS. DORK AND BADASS FOREVER.)

I too, love that MCR song, it took me like two months to listen to the whole new album. I still have only brought a couple of songs from panics. Wow.
