I have so many feelings about the loaf of bread District 11 sends to Katniss. At first I was so upset that moment wasn't included in the film, but after thinking about it I realize it was such a loaded moment in the book and it would have been impossible to convey all the important elements that loaf of bread MEANS on film. So, I understand why they didn't include it. And I loved the scene with District 11 after Rue's death, and the beginning of the uprising.
So many other amazing things!! I loved EB as Effie. The scene with Haymitch meeting with sponsors to get Katniss medicine.
Jennifer Lawrence. I cannot imagine a better Katniss. She was more than perfect.
I loved the Cato speech at the end. I was not expecting to get so emotional over it.
I think I have to see the movie again ASAP. I can't stop thinking about it.
Yes, exactly. I was a little disappointed at first too, but to explain the bread (from the commentators or something) would have probably taken us out of the moment, so I think they did a great job with showing D11 riot. I get chills just thinking about that scene.
Man, I know right? (about Cato) the whole time, you just see him and Clove, Glimmer, etc. as these villainous killing machines, but what happened to them was just as fucked up as what happens to the poor kids getting forced into the games. such a good moment.
ALLLL THE FEELINGS. I wish they had spent more time on Rue. I feel like without knowing the book it could seem like she was just canon fodder to make the audience sympathize with Katniss, because she was barely there. I just wish they had given her a bit more of a backround. Even just one conversation about what District 11 is like. I loved the scene with the loaf of bread from district 11 in the book, but I felt like the rebellion was a smart replacement for the film.. It cut to the point, it set up the next movie, and goddamn it was just a beautifully moving scene

Yeah, a little bit more with Rue would have been great. Maybe they'll be more in deleted scenes? it was such a long movie, they might have cut more of her and Katniss bonding
