some people write 2000 word essays about Girls. I write about ponies.

so my life has been very eventful the last week but not in any good ways at all. I don't really want to dwell on these two things because I have cried so much that I keep giving myself headaches and this entry is decidedly not about sad things because I need to think of happy things right now. But anyway, both my great-grandmother and my cat, Sam, ( Read more... )

MLP is legit one of my favourite shows of the past year. I love them all so much (I think Rarity might be my favourite though) and every episode is so fun, and how goddamn catchy is the Winter Wrap-Up song? I'm singing it right now! For no reason whatsoever I have an especial fondness for the monocle-wearing Canterlot pony that shows up in the background occasionally, at which point I point at the screen and shout MONOCLE - I guess he is my Derpy Hooves. I love your fixation on their monetary system; personally I am obsessed with how do non-pegasi ponies pick things up? I love all the visual tricks they use to get around never showing the ponies actually carrying anything.

... uh that was tl;dr, in short I LOVE PONIES and I hope there's lot of happy things coming up for you soon. Including ponies. ♥

oh I love Rarity too! that episode where she and Sweetie Belle learn to be good sisters to each other is one of the sweetest ever. I love them all, really. even Big Mac, who has a 2 world vocabulary.

I KNOW OF THAT MONOCLE WEARING PONY! he is pretty swank. I love all the background ponies that keep popping up, like the DJ pony (whose name I think is Vinyl Scratch?)

The carrying thing is also totally bizarre. I remember in the babysitting episode, Pinkie Pie carries a lot of stuff ON HER TAIL but that seriously cannot be possible, right? They also do a lot of neat visual tricks in that one, too, like they never show the ponies changing the twins' diapers because that is obviously impossible. I guess with the unicorns being telekinetic with their magic means a lot of the things that require thumbs would be done by them? but that still doesn't explain a lot. I do love trying to figure out this world, it's like a mystery!

PONIES ARE THE BEST. And thanks bb. ♥♥♥

Big Mac is awesome! YEP, NOPE. I laughed so hard in that one ep when he and Applejack got mad at the Cutiemark Crusaders and swapped speech patterns in their anger - perfection.

Bleurgh, when I said non-pegasi I meant non-unicorn, but you got what I meant lol.

ALSO what is the relationship between the ponies and the domesticated animals? Isn't it weird, and a bit feudal?! Oh Ponyville. Never change.

Oh I haven't seen that one yet! That sounds AWESOME.

oh man, SERIOUSLY. Like, Applejack can round up the cows but the cows talk? Are they, like, independent or on a lower tier of society? I'm also totally confused about the different kinds of horses, like Zecora and the cranky donkey. I guess Zecora is close enough to a pony, she has a cutie mark (I think) but what makes the ponies so special that they get cutie marks but donkeys don't? is it magic? why even bring donkeys into this? I AM SO CONFUSED.

I also don't get why some of the other animals talk but not all of them. Like, none of their pets talk, but the cows and buffalo do. is it only things with hooves?

Sorry about your human and feline losses. I had to put my 21 yr old prima calico to sleep this week, just a few days after her bday....the last of her family of our first bottle babies. I co-miserate with you, thats for sure.

I'm so sorry Ange, losing an old kitty like that is never fun. good for her for living to such a ripe old age, though.

I really can't deal with losing another animal any time soon. I've lost 7 cats and our only dog in the past year. I'm down to three and I've never had less than 4 my entire life. it's a sad time for the kitties in my life, for sure.

I love that idea that someone could learn a lesson and not have it smacked into their head by humiliation.

I know, right? I love that about this show so much, it's a really nice change of pace from most shows (for kids or adults).
