Friends meme...?
Ahoy! ...No, this post isn't just for sailors. But I'm making it small so it's not as spammy.
I don't know. This might be a stupid idea but maybe you're like me... one little community is cool, but the big ones are too much for me... but I need more friends. Out of the 60 some people I've made friends with since I popped into this world, I think about 5 of them are still around... I think, maybe wrong, friends meme places fail for the same reason most communities do... whatever that is. It could be that people think if it worked well once, a second chance will never be as good? Which I totally don't agree with. That's not a way I can be. (Tangent, woops.)
So...! Let's bring the friends meme journal-side? (Woo!) I guess it's reaching out. Like it's not scary enough posting in this place..
Write a public post in your journal. (You decide if you will allow anonymity, which might get you more comments, or IP logging, which might get you less. You might want to check?) About yourself. Kind of like the best parts of a claims post except that your friends are all there so it's not to strangers. And you might even tell them stuff about yourself they don't know.
Then leave the link here. Just your name (profession?) and a link. People who are scanning down their friends list looking for something to do can read the comments and click through. Make a friend? It seems more laid back to me... And you can make it as long or short as you want.
Work, the people you know, the neat things you like, the way you are...
