It's not the dogs fault it's the owners, people make their dogs like that. I have a pitbull and he is the sweetest thing to me and my son, yes he protects us when needed but he has never gone after anyone and if he ever did they deserve it.
My in laws got so mad when I took hercules in, "oh he could attack Trent" waa waa waa.. That dog Loves my son, their mini poodle has gone after my son not my pit bull.
The sad thing is hon - no one will even hear you on that. They'll tell you to "give it time - the dog will because they're mean/vicious etc."
You're also not the type of person who would let your dog rule the house, or allow the dog to be alone with Trent at any time I'm sure. Too many people trust their kids and dogs alone, and that's when the bites happen.
Do you mind if I post this to my journals? I would also like to use your icon. This is utter bs. Cocker spaniels are more prone to bite then pit bulls!
baby , what are you guys going to do if all og this happens move ? I always thought canada was qite liberal this is auful :( they did the same in hamburg geramnyand a few other cities followed their lead ,so there was a nationwide rescue call for the dogs living in thoses areas ,we had to smugglr them out it was like smuggling criminals :(. I don't understand people ,I want my own country my own city and my own rules :P love R-
Well this isn't all of Canada that's put the ban into place. It's just Ontario. It doesn't go into effect until the end of August - but it will be challenged in court.
My dog is safe. He is not a pit, so I don't really have to worry TOO much...unless people for some reason don't like him. But this is why we're going to get him into obedeince as soon as we can, and get him up to canine good citizen level.

Thank you - I know it got moved, and I have seen it before - but it's nice to see that other people are passionate about this as well.
We have a 60 pound english bull terrier, german shepard cross - and he does the same thing...he'll lie across your lap while you're on the couch..and that to me is one of the most beautiful things ever :)

It's an uphill battle - but we'll keep fighting.
