"Daimon has found employment." Her voice was low and thoughtful, and businesslike enough that it got her a few odd glances. "I am still...weighing options." She balanced the glass between her long, gloved fingers, glancing again at the poker table. "My skill set is not entirely appropriate for much of what is available."
Give me half a chance to disguise myself as a man and I'd gladly wear a star on my lapel. But people around here would probably defecate themselves in shock if a woman proposed to take the job.
"I might have made a good instructor, but some around here might not want a widow of my background around their children." Her tone was cautiously thoughtful.
