I was discussing exactly this subject with Mere earlier tonight. Your family has the oddest conception of height. Especially Mere. With a father of 6'6" and a mother of 5'9" (both well above the national average for their respective sexes), it makes sense that you'd see most men as short.
Mere doesn't seem to think of herself as "short," even though she's significantly shorter than everyone else in her life and has to crane her neck up to see many of them eye-to-eye.
You and I are the same height, Katt... and I'm generally considered on the low end of tall for men (if not exactly average, as Mandy's research suggests).
Not that I have any particular point... I just find it all interesting, given what your family has grown up seeing as average.
It is interesting... you know of the fact that daughters are attracted to men like their fathers? Well, my father has screwed us over! He's tall, funny, good looking (esp. for a man of 50), smart, knowledgeable, generous, considerate, understanding... don't worry Kas, you're probably doing a great job!! I wouldn't know, I'm not your girlfriend. BUT, Mere is dating you, so no worries. ;p
