You were misinformed and the product does not do what you were told it would. Take it up with the store manager, if that fails, there's an ombudsman. Look them up first, and make the threat of going to them when talking with the manager. If that doesn't work, go to them. Ultimately, you're in the right.

(Also, yeah, the Samsung TVs are pretty good, and for next time I recommend the Good Guys in Belconnen. They've been pretty cool in my dealings with them.)

Yeah, I have formally complained in writing and will take further action as needed. I have the number for the ACCC and a free legal advice centre which specialises in this sort of thing.
I knew I was in the right in the store, but the staff would not listen and I didn't want anyone getting angry (especially me).
So I left, wrote a letter and returned, handed it to them and left again.
