If it's not one thing it's another. With the economy the way it is it's been difficult just to keep yourself afloat. Paying the mortgage, keeping professionalism.

I was lucky though, seems I'm still in a job. Though I really hate needing that second chance. It must be the perfectionist in me ( Read more... )

I know what you mean about the job thing. It's damn lucky for me that I'm so good at what I do, because otherwise I'd be so long gone by now it wouldn't even be funny.

What exactly do you do? And I can commiserate- if I weren't excellent at my own job this mistake would have been the death of my career.

We went to a bar for old times sake you could say. I hadn't realized she was such a lightweight.

I'm an analyst for a government think tank. signal analysis, computer programming, IT. That sort of thing. I was on a special team time sometime back in an attempt to decode a signal that had hacked the government mainframe in a military base in Qatar, then on Air Force One. It's because of me the signal was decoded.

Ah, I see. Well, if one isn't a regular drinker, it sneaks up on you.

Very true. I rarely drink myself, it tends to get you in trouble.
