Disappointment and Insecurity.

Today I am working double shift. I came home after lunch shift and checked my e-mail. Basically JET told me to go jump off a bridge. Well not like that, but practically. After all the waiting and hoping..it turns out it was all in vain. I checked the list on the website. about 42% of people who applied got in. This means that I wasn't even ( Read more... )

*hugs* I fully believe it's not a matter of being better or smarting; it's about how experienced you are at bull-shitting.

I believe you really will be able to get to Japan because of the fact that you WILL work hard and you DO care. And that's why you can do it. Because people can accomplish their dreams if they have faith in themselves and the determination to keep working hard towards them, no matter the setbacks. I put that in my application because my own life has already proven that to be true to me. It's very, very hard but I believe in you.

You and I need to have a girl's day out and do nothing but make each other feel better and then go back to your house and play video games and get drunk and laugh it all off.

Whenever I feel insecure about myself, you're there to reassure me and now I can reassure you. You're better than that. It's just not meant to be this year but there is always next year. You can work harder at building a resume. I'm not too good at writing this stuff down, but seriously, if you EVER need anyone to talk to, call me. If you want to hang out tonight, call me, I have off tomorrow morning. This weekend I am free if you need just someone else to talk to.

And we also need to go shopping and try on ridiculously expensive clothes we'll never buy but that look cute anyways!

The applications were nearly late, weren't they? visi_yesthatone January 26 2007, 01:21:56 UTC
It sucks that they didn't give you any reasoning behind their decision, because you are more qualified than 95% of the people working here (in Kochi and Japan ( ... )

Liz, I know you will get there someway. I know you can do it.
Just like when you thought you wouldnt make it to Japan the first time. And then you found out you were going. And every one said "see we told you so"

I know you will get there, B/c You work hard in everything you do. Dont be depressed, and make yourself feel even worse, b/c You have made it this far. You are very smart, and I only wish I could do things like you have.
But you will get there.

:) I believe in you and I know all the people who are around you believe in you too.

"JET doesn't pick people by their qualifications. Everyone knows that."
-My friend Marcus (Who was then backed up by every JET I've spoken to.)

My fiend Leah told me that they actually want people who know nothing about Japan at all- to force the culture exchange.
