Summary: “It doesn’t really matter, really, it doesn’t.”
Kibum breathes in, breathes out. It doesn’t really matter, really, it doesn’t. Being here, in this room, looking at these walls, none of it matters because he made the choices, oh yes he did, and this is the outcome. He chose the way, he tells himself over and over again, and that means he’s still got the upper hand, no matter what.
“Once upon a time,” an out-of-breath voice filled with laughter and greed somewhere above him, but Kibum fails to hear the rest. Oh, what the hell, he thinks in stead and allows the soft pushing and pulling to continue. The softness, however, only lasts so long. Second thoughts always were so very overrated.
Morning comes eventually, and as the first rays of light turn to look at Seoul Kim Kibum is already walking, walking towards something, walking home. There’s music to faces later on, he knows that. Right now, though, it matters even less than yesterday or the night that has only just come to an end. Right now is the only time he ever gets to spend alone with himself.
It’s too damn cold, it never really gets warm these days anymore, but Kibum still finds his heart, or at least his mind filled with fondness towards this furthest edge of the city, beaten and broken and yet more sympathetic than any of the office buildings looming in the distance. He has nothing to do with it all; he knows that more than well. Maybe that’s exactly why it’s so easy to relate to.
He begins to hum a tune as he nears the dorm. What would they say, he wonders as an eased grin spreads across his face, never reaching the eyes, what indeed? It’s been a while since he’s felt attached to the world.
The windows shine blindingly for a second until the sun climbs that one bit higher, leaving the doorstep as empty as a few minutes ago.

Notes: Somehow I wound up abusing Kibum although I really rather like him. Sorry! Won’t happen again! Hopefully.
