Okay, one more post, because I just saw something that *screams* to be talked about.

Tory posted this on facebook and...well, I have to say, it's one of the most purely honest things I've seen come out of Harvard, just about ever.  Or out of any college writing.  Or really out of any public, published writing.

It's all about how we all stress and don't sleep and ( Read more... )

I am glad you've decided to be more honest when we ask how you're doing. :) It's a good feeling, to just say "Eh, I've got a headache." I feel like I'm sharing too much sometimes, but like the person in the article I started to realize sharing what I felt was better than bottling it up and freaking out. As a result, the instances are much lower of that nowadays. It's great. :D

So yes. I like this article. It is very true, and very Wellesley/other top schools, and yeah, we do all need to relax more. Stressing yourself is bad bad bad. It causes all sorts of problems, from sleep issues to mental and emotional health. It's good that other people are realizing this and posting about it, and making it known. Lines of communication NEED to be opened up for this sort of thing, as much if not moreso than body image issues or eating disorders since I think this overworking is more prevalent.

So yes. Good article, good things from you and good good good. Yeah. xD

I'm not sure that I'd say overworking is more prevalent than body image issues (eating disorders, well, yeah, overwork is probably more common--though the eating disorder probably causes more serious physical damage). But the overwork does affect a larger portion of life. I mean, even if you think you're really ugly--you can still get a good grade on that paper and hang out with friends and sleep. The overworking kind of...takes over. -.- As I learned last semester. No more of that. I don't like that.

That's what I meant. I picked the wrong word, really--I've not been good at those word things lately. Either way, yeah. It's a bad feeling. We need to revolutionize THE WORLD! the way we act as college students. ^^ *nodnod*
