Sep 22, 2010 00:13

[The time on your Dreamberry has just struck 00:00:00. The time is unnoticed by most residents, many opting to either be in bed at this hour or occupied with other things. There's no reason for someone to check their messages right now, is there?

00:00:45A text suddenly causes your Dreamberry to vibrate, alerting you that a message has arrived. ( Read more... )

[> ...You wake up to see your Dreamberry flashing.

> It would appear that Kihara-kun has beaten you to the punch.

> It is a bit before 4 in the morning. You must have slept through the initial receiving, at midnight this morning.

> You are feeling Tired.

> You have, however, promised yourself that you would get up early and make pancakes today before senpai has to leave for work.

> It's time to get up...

> You are ready to select Y when it occurs to you that you might want to attach a message, too.

> "Happy birthday! (b'_')b Meet me in the kitchen."
> "Good morning and happy birthday, Akihiko-senpai."
> Don't attach a message, on second thought.]

Good morning and happy birthday, Akihiko-senpai.

[> You decide that short and to the point is good enough.

> That done, you shove your Dreamberry into your pocket, and then make your way downstairs to the kitchen. You should get started: senpai will probably join you later.]

[Despite Minato's attempts to wake up early to cook a surprise breakfast for Akihiko, Akihiko is already downstairs. He's laying in plain sight on one of the couches in the lobby, his Dreamberry has vibrated and beeped its way off the coffee table and into the middle of the room, due to the force of so many texts.

He doesn't look like he's slept very much. He turns his head and squints over to the stairs, he has one of the lamps on near the couch, but it's still difficult to see who's coming down the stairs.]

That you, Minato?

[...

So much for that.

Does that mean he might as well stay up until 3am and go to bed after he's done doing stuff next year? 8(]

Yes. ...Are you alright, senpai?

[He stretches out on the couch, slowly sitting up.]

Tired. [He lets out a sigh, tiredly scratching his head.]

My Dreamberry's been going off all night. I keep getting this weird text with a cake... I can't seem to get it to stop. I came down here so I wouldn't disturb you guys upstairs.

[Shiki was sleeping on the sofa in the living room by accident. The opening of her store and sale she had going on made her exhausted these past few days. She wakes up to her Dreamberry groaning, about to delete the message as spam but luckily she read the message before deleting it.]

[Yawns.] It's today, huh?

[Texting now.]

Y

Happy Birthday Akihiko~ I hope you have wonderful birthday today ~~~ヾ(^∇^)

[NO SHIKI, YOU HAVE UNLEASHED A HORROR UPON AKIHIKO'S INBOX!

Due to an error in Kihara's code, after Shiki pressed that initial Y, every button she pressed after that resulted in Akihiko getting another copy of the original text. He receives seventry-four messages from Shiki before the finally one, with her personalized birthday greeting.

He kind of wants to crawl in a hole right now. With a sigh, he goes through them all, deleting all but the final one, which he replies to:]

Thanks, Misaki. I'll try.

[Sorry XD;; She had no idea.

Anyway, she sends a follow up message in the later part in the day while she was busying running her shop.]

You're welcome. What do you want as a birthday present? (。◇。)? I'm pretty handy with a needle and thread so if you want to have something made, I'm your girl~~ (^.^)b

[Well, at least her next message didn't duplicate over 9000 cakes for him.]

You don't need to do anything for me, your wishes are just fine.

[A.B.A is a bit confused when the strange little message appears on her phone, but it seems like someone went through a lot of trouble to send it. She doesn't exactly know what a birthday is, but she gets the jist of what to do]

[The text of cake greetings arrives from another name Akihiko finds himself unfamiliar with. However, since they only ended up sending him one text, it seems polite enough to reply. The duplicates that seem to be flooding in from all sides have been getting increasingly more frustrating.]

Thanks.

[Rise doesn't see the message until she wakes up in the morning but when she does, she can't help but grin a little at the cute ASCII cake on the screen. It looked like whoever made it put a lot of trouble into it and it would be a waste not to actually use it.]

>Y

[She then sends this text to Akihiko a few moments after.]

happy birthday akihiko-kun! (⌒▽⌒)/゜・:* you should've told me it was your birthday so i could've made something. (>ε<;) but hey maybe we could celebrate when you're free. hope you have a great day~ o(*≧▽≦)o

[Oh my God, Rise. Rise, oh my God. Do you know what you have done? Do you know?

Due to an issue with Kihara's programming, every key Rise pressed after that inital "y" has duplicated the original message. Before he even receives the personalized birthday greeting from her, Akihiko finds himself staring at two hundred and five duplicate messages. Yet, he finds himself hesitant to delete this mass amount of spam clogging up his inbox because... Duplicate or not, the message is still from Rise.

He isn't trying to sleep right now at least - in fact, by the time Rise woke up, Akihiko was on his way from the station to his post for the day in the 2nd district. Sitting on the street car, checking and hesitantly deleting all of the duplicate messages, he can't help but feel lucky that he didn't tell Rise it was his birthday. She may have attempted to bake him a cake.]

Thanks, Rise. I'm heading to work now but we could do something sometime later, sure thing.

[Akihiko Sanada is the man who is going to break his Dreamberry if these texts don't stop flooding in. Sleep is far too much to ask when the entire populace of Somarium appears to be texting him.]
