[ Personality ] :
Gekkoukan High's golden boy. A founding member of the shadow-hunting S.E.E.S (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad), captain of the boxing team and very dedicated to his studies, Akihiko is considered the cool upperclassman. Girls want him, guys want to be him but he just brushes off the attention that's drawn to him. Putting on an aloof and somewhat distant front, he's deeply passionate about what he believes in. The many tragedies in his life have shaped him into who he is; from losing his sister in a fire when he was seven to witnessing the murder of his dearest friend, Akihiko thrives on becoming stronger in order to protect the people he loves.
Although he's usually very composed, he can get riled up very quickly when someone he cares about is in danger. His desire to protect people can make him charge ahead like a fool, not always taking time to assess what he's up against. Through all the training he’s put in over the years, it seems that he’s willing to endure absolutely anything if it means protecting someone, a broken ribcage ain’t no thang. The times where he isn’t in a frantic “gotta go fast gotta protect!!!” state and he does keep a level head, he proves himself a formidable co-leader for SEES, be it outside of Tartarus or while trawling through its depths. However, one thing will always stay the same - any chance he can take to prove himself, he will seize almost immediately.
He's got a bit of a competitive streak as well -- and not just in regards to boxing. If something can be viewed as a competition (babe hunting lol) he will see it as such and try to win to the best of his ability. He's got a very deep sense of honour and will never use underhanded tricks to win though -- which can be his downfall against someone who isn't opposed to cheating.
His Persona, Caesar, is of the Emperor arcana. The Emperor arcana represents: “competitiveness, forcefulness in development and execution. Authority, structure, governmental and corporate identities. Worldly power, self control gained through experience. Ability to shoulder responsibility. Powerful individuals, ambition together with the possibility of long term achievement.” (source -
here ) Athough he is not an obtainable Emperor social link in game, the traits and what he represents as Caesar are still valid. With Mitsuru standing in place of the Empress, the pair manage to fill the parental void that many of the members of SEES hold. They play mother and father to the group, watching over them and ensuring success in all fields (be it school, tartarus exploration or shadow stalking).
He's a bit timid around girls. He tends to ignore the ones that fawn over him and remains confident and composed around his fellow SEES members. Hitting on strange girls is an entirely different matter all together. He's not good at flirting but he tries. This usually results in him making an awkward fool of himself. He's used to being teased by Mitsuru but feels awkward when other people (particularly females) do it. Overall, he's pretty lost when it comes to the fairer sex. (HONESTLY HE IS KIND OF A DERP...)
Despite the aloof front he puts on around those who don’t know him well (or admire him from afar) , Akihiko is friendly. He's quick to go n a first-name basis with people (but nicknames seem to be reserved for Shinji). Once he's gotten to know somebody, he can be a bit of a tease. He's playful in his own way; whether it's joking about going into the school's faculty office after-hours in order to change his grades or teasing Mitsuru and Yukari about needing him for cockroach extermination, he knows how to relax and have fun with his friends. He loves to compete with his friends as well, as he does have quite the competitive streak. He once bet Minato and Junpei that he could pick up a girl on the beach faster than they could... As mentioned, his almost crippling derpiness around girls resulted in him having to buy Minato a steak.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] : Strengths/ Skills:
Akihiko is a great boxer. He thrives on training and being able to hone his skills. He primarily fights with his fists and packs quite the powerful punch. Despite his slender appearance, this featherweight is a lot stronger than he appears.
In terms of education, Akihiko is fairly intelligent. He gets high grades in school (likely due to Mitsuru’s influence) and understands the importance of time management and responsibility. He manages his time quite well by the looks of things - keeping up with school, his clubs and nightly trips to Tartarus to punch every shadow in the face is no small task. In addition, he understands his role as a founding member and leader of S.E.E.S but he also recognizes the leadership displayed by both Mitsuru and Minato, accepting of their orders and listening to what they say.
His Persona is Caesar, a lightning elemental Persona. With the ability to cast debuffs, healing spells and strong electic attacks.
A handy-dandy guide to Caesar's spells:
Zio spells: Mazionga (multi-targeting lightning spell), Ziodyne (single-target high-damage lightning spell)
Physical: Fist Master (increases the power of glove-based weapons, passive skill)
Debuffs: Tarunda (decrease enemy attack), Rakunda (decrease enemy defense) Sukunda (decrease enemy agility)
Heal: Diarama (healing spell, single target for a high amount of HP)
Weakness:
ICE SPELLS. ICE SPELLS WILL KNOCK HIM ON HIS ASS EVERY GODDAMN TIME, FUUU-
Akihiko’s biggest downfall is probably the way he bottles up emotions. He does his best to remain strong for his friends, putting on a bit of an aloof front even when he’s hurting the most. After Shinjiro’s murder, Akihiko appears unfazed by anything - keeping up that tough front and acting like everything is fine and that he’s already moved on. In actuality, he’s far from it. He starts talking about Shinjiro a lot. Not so much in the "Yeah, Shinji was a great guy" sense, but it seems he actually starts talking to Shinji's ghost. Upon his Persona's evolution to Caesar, one of his frequently used post-battle taunts is "Did you see that, Shinji?!".
It isn’t that he’s crazy or that he possesses some kind of sixth sense that allows him to see his friend’s ghost - he just seems to take comfort in the idea that Shinji’s ghost has nothing better to do than watch him (especially in battle. DID YOU SEE THAT SHINJI DID YOU SEE THAT SHINJI DID YOU SEE THAT SHINJI etc etc etc). At one point, he even goes so far to wonder what would happen when he sees Shinji in Heaven - of course, he's quick to realize that Shinji'd just punch him in the face and walk away. Somehow these kinds of thoughts are viewed as being completely normal to him.
Another weakness in a sense would be Mitsuru. The only time where Akihiko truly seems depressed around the rest of S.E.E.S (not saying he didn’t have a moment in canon privately at Shinjiro’s memorial because he did) is after the death of Mitsuru’s father. He genuinely seems very concerned for her and she seems to just keep shutting him out - one conversation in the game goes so far as to state that if ever something was a concern of Mitsuru’s or if she were to be downtrodden, Akihiko would immediately mirror her mood.
