I got so mad a few years ago, when the Humane Society of the United States put out this survey asking questions about research - and even THEY declined to include the differentiation between humane and non-humane research. Their questions were so vague that I basically had two answers for each. In the "additional comments" I wrote basically an essay about how angry this made me, and went ahead and also wrote to their PR and never heard a response. It was after that that I stopped financially supporting the HSUS (well that mixed with their whole stance on Michael Vick and how they want him to work hands on with dogs to "rehabilitate" himself. no thank you.)

You see my point!! (though it generally involves capital letters and that whole "AND THEN WHEN THEY LOST THEY WERE ELECTROCUTED IN A PUDDLE AND/OR HUNG TO DEATH IN FRONT OF ALL THE OTHER DOGS" part, too.)

It makes so much sense, dont'cha'know! /sarcasm

This was quite informative and I think a lot of people should read it!
There's so much missinformation around this subject! I definitely didn't know any of this, so thank you for writing this post.

You know, I saw this and I knew you would do the writer's block as soon as I saw it. I'm really glad you're putting this out there, because a lot of people don't realize there are different levels of testing and research and that the research accomplished has saved both human and animal lives since. I really hate how ignorant people can be. =/
