TIME Summary: He never thought he could have a second chance in anything.. Nothing was rightfully his, in the first place...
Takaki Yuya is no doubt restless to the bones… he couldn’t help it… watching someone dear to him collapse like that, he felt completely helpless. Blaming himself for there is nothing he could do to avoid this…. He is trying with all his might to be strong.. to build a tough front for everyone.. especially for Ryosuke… he is nowhere near to being resilient but, he needs to be there for him. He must.
Prying the door open, slowly- as if he is afraid that the sound of the creaking door would disturb his nephews’ slumber. But, there he is - eyes shut- breathing heavily with help of the respirator-looking frail- oblivious to the dim surrounding. How he wished to see those energizing smile again.
As he scrutinizes through the boys’ thin and delicate features, he couldn’t help but feeling stuffy inside… he tried not to cry, so much that it stings. Desperately holding it all in. Yuyas’ mind wanders around the time he could still see those innocent glitters in the boys’ eyes- full of life -HOPE.
He wanted to be almost everything, everyone- he wanted to be free- flying- soaring to the unlimited sky and beyond.
Ryosuke was once an active and lively boy- he lived his life as if nothing could stop him. He wanted to be a certified soccer player. Making it to the national team. Despite of everyone’s slight disapproval over his chubby appearance, they doubted whether he could make it judging his plump but ‘cute’ physique. Then, miraculously he somehow made it through the schools’ soccer club selection. Takaki once called it a beginners’ luck when he was informed of the matter. He laughed-teasing. But, he knew Ryosuke worked hard for it- and he deserved it, every bit.

“Jii-chan!... I made it.. I got through the teams’ selection!... See?? I told you I would make it!”. He almost shouted with an undeniable grin stuck on his face. Takaki could not be happier… “I’m gonna tell Mom and Dad, they’d be happy!”. The boy then left, prancing and skipping through his way. Takaki just shook his head and smile.
“I’m going to Yuto’s place first, we promised with everyone to celebrate! Don’t wait up for me.. but I promise, I’ll be back before six!. Bye!”. With that said, he dashed through the door.
It all seems to be going good for him.
They all gathered at the usual café. Laughing and talking. Reminiscing through everyone’s misses and un-ceremonial failure to conquer the ball. Oh, those lively innocent days. Everyone shared their stories and laughter. Hoping for a brighter future. Little that they know, everything is going to change after they step out of the café, on that fated day. After their little feast, which fortunately ended half an hour after five. Everyone get to their respective ways, leaving just Yuto and him. They love to take it slow. Enjoy the night breeze. Pacing through their way home. Savoring the night scene. But, for tonight they wanted to get home early thus, they decided to take the bus, as it would be faster and reach home before night fall.
As they sit at the back seat of the bus, Ryosuke couldn’t help but having the sudden urge to ask his friend.
“Yuto, what do you think will happen to us after high school life is over? Will we be together forever? Or will we get on with our lives and forget each other? Even our promises?” His eyebrows scrunched at the question.
Yuto couldn’t help but frown in wonder at the black haired boys’ question. He was silenced for a second, but quickly responded, smiling.
“I don’t know about everyone else, but one thing is dead sure- I won’t forget you. I would treasure everything about my friends, especially you, Yama-chan…. ‘cause you’re my first and best friend. Even if we are worlds apart. Ryosuke smiled, contented with the answer. Suddenly, he felt safe- assured.
“Oh Yutti… you’re sweet.. Thank you!”. He then messed Yutos’ already messy hair..
“Yama-chan, stop it! You’re ruining my style! Gosh..” he then laughed.
Contagiously, Ryosuke shared the moments with a happy giggle.
“As for me, what ever happen- I will always treasure our time together. I just love being with you- being myself. I hope you will always remember me - whatever happens in future.”.. He said, and then smiled looking through the window.
“I would….” He did not finish his words, as they was distracted. The bus then halted at one of the bus stop.
A petite figure boarded the bus. Eyes covered by his black tresses. The hood of his jacket, covering his head. There is nothing outstanding about the boy- if he is a boy. Ryosuke is not positively sure. He does look a little feminine though. Delicate. But, he could not avert his eyes from his limping foot. His eyes examining the figure at one seat in front of them. He was shocked when the boy suddenly looked back and smiled at him. The most dazzling smile in his eyes. Little did he know, with that smile, everything in his life would change- forever.
“Yama-chan, you were saying?” Yuto's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
“Sorry Yutti, I got distracted.” He smiled. Yuto then eyed his friend’s little ‘distraction’. He too couldn’t help but smiled.
He kept peeking at the now confirmed- boy as the bus move to their destination. His thoughts wondering about him. He don’t know why or how it happened. But, he is positive that he is now captivated. Magically allured by the boys mere presence- miraculously…
