okay, not every will be too awful interested in this post, but it was important to me, so i thought I'd share....
okies, for anyone who didn't know, I go bowling in a league on monday nights with my bf and some of our friends. I hadn't really bowled a lot before august and go bowling on an average of about two nights a week, for about two hours at a time. To me, this equals more than an average person, but not a whole lot and not enough to really improve really quickly. For the most part, my bowling has gone as such: not the best, but not bad for someone that's only been bowling regularly for 6 months and I'm getting better every week.
Well, as part of this league, you pay a fee every week and there's a little book of merchandise that you can choose from. You have to pay out the rest of the league before you get your stuff, and tonight I picked up my stuff, which made me happy. (yes, i know it's kinda dorky, but hey, i like bowling) I got another bowling bag with flames on it and pink and purple bowling shoes, which I know, sounds kinda girly, but they're cool really really cool.
So cool, in fact, that they're the whole reason I made this post. I tried them out for the first time a few hours ago.
In the league, I had an average of 116 a game, though I have been getting into the 120s or 130s, and had gotten a previous high scratch series of 380. This in itself isn't too awful impressive, but I consider what i did tonight with my new shoes fairly awesome. I got a new high scratch series of 458, with my scores of the night being 157, 152, and 149. This gave me an average for the night of 152, almost 40 pins over my regular average, and 78 pins over the last high series. I have sort of an idea of how this will affect my average and handicap, but I know this much for sure: 1, I have the new highest scratch series for women for the league, 2, I have the second highest handicap series for women in the league, and finally....
New shoes are the fuckin' shit! And they make a Diana very, very happy. :D
