Hey, there's something I've been wondering for a while now. Some people here use words like "kun" and uh... "san" at the end of people's names, but what does it mean? Is it like saying mister or miss? It's something I never heard before I came here, not even in other worlds.

[Hmm. There's something else he's curious about, too. Prior to the draft ( Read more... )

They're Japanese honorifics to show respect and politeness for the other person. It's like using 'mister' or 'miss'.

So that is what it means! I thought so, but I just wasn't sure. I've still got a lot to learn about different cultures.

That's a really simple explanation on the system without going into a lot of details. There's a lot of different people from different cultures here.

Yeah, but I'm not surprised! There are so many worlds out there, and it'd be weird if they all had the same customs.

It's a holiday where you spend time with your friends and family and exchange gifts. Some people call it the season of giving.

Oh... [Explains why he's never heard of it then.]

Who's Santa then?

He's this guy who lives at the North Pole and has a workshop full of elves that build toys and other gifts for good girls and boys. Every year, Santa keeps a list of everyone who's naughty and nice, and then he travels on Christmas eve to deliver presents.

But if you're on his naughty list, then you get a lump of coal instead.

Well, for Christmas you get gifts for your friends and family and spend time together. You can celebrate it by decorating a tree or hanging up stockings and lights. It's a lot of fun!

Oh wow, that's different! And this Santa guy gives presents away?

Yup! Every year he gives presents to anyone who's on his nice list. That means he's gotta visit every world in one night, which is a lot of work.

Too old? I don't think so! You're never too old to have Christmas spirit.

Yep! I guess some people here haven't heard of it, but it's a holiday where you and the people close to you exchange gifts and spend time together.

First for me.

But exchange gifts, huh? Sounds kind of fun.

It's a lot of fun, plus you get to make your friends really happy. There's more to it than the gifts, though.
