Googoo for Gaga? I think not. -- A Review?

A few weeks ago I was introduced to Lady Gaga for the first time. Leave it to a gay forum to call her "Queen of the Gays." It spiked my interest and most of the comments were about her choice in style (it was a fashion forum after all). However, her "pop" appearence (short skirts, going' to church!) kept me away. Soon after I read a commentary

There's a trick to getting it out of your head... but it takes time and dedication. First, take whatever's in your head, and put it on repeat. Oh yes, indulge. Sometimes it takes a few days, but you WILL get a little tired of it... not 'omg, I hates it!' tired, but just a little weary. THEN comes the tricky part: You need to find a new song that is also catchy. I usually turn to songs like Ghostbusters, Thriller, U Can't Touch This, songs that a long time ago were once the song you could not get out of your head. The dorkier, the better. You have overcome them, and in turn, they shall help you overcome The Gaga.

And so far, all I know about Lady Gaga is that people obsess too much over her, and that that one song of hers is INDEED CATCHY.

A while ago Elliot picked up her cd, and I've listen to all the songs on it. She does do a good job with catchy, but at the same time not saying anything. One of her songs starts with "Cherry cherry boom boom". Why? Because it fits the beat. The one thing that bothers me about her is that she seems to promote dangerous behavior. One of her videos is her wearing almost nothing in an abandoned area of subway surrounded by "thuggish" guys. My first thought is that is a gang rape set-up. Her "Just Dance" song is about getting so drunk you can't even see straight, losing your money, keys, and phone, and possibly getting ditched by your man. I can only see that ending badly.
