iPad? Mmmm...

The iPad was introduced as an "in beteween" device, between a smartphone and a laptop. Job's argument that in order to create a so-called in between device it has to be better at certain tasks. This may be a good argument in times of prosperity, but in reality, who needs to spend hundreds of dollars on a device that DOES what your other devices ( Read more... )

Yeah, if you don't like the iPhone, the iPad is pretty much ultra bad. Yeah, I see no reason to update my technology just for new stuff too...actually, when people do that it's kinda annoying. Course it's not strictly for old people, I mean Apple does have some seriously annoying fanboys (I dunno if I'd call them tech junkies, all the technophiles I know HATE apple), but I think they may be trying to expand their market from just "hipsters."

I'm personally more interested in the Nook by B&N. Right now it's just an e-reader, but it's made using Android software (Verizon's iphone), and it has a Linux back end. B&N are saying that in the future it will have access to the Android's apps, making it similar to the ipad. And I heard the Nook is lighter than the ipad. But of course, my personal opinion is always "wait until they find that major flaw that got overlooked, let them fix it, and then buy it when they drop the price as an apology." So I have no plans for purchase in the near future.
