Topher and Adelle's Most Excellent Bug Adventure.
by Ashley, Wil, Lissa, and Roz.

One bright and sunny day in the Dollhouse, Adelle was walking along minding her own business when a giant bug flew in through her office window and landed next to her coffee mug. She stopped just short of her desk and stared at the bug, which looked unfamiliar to her. She tried to shoo it away with her hand. But it was of no use. The bug just looked at her with its creepy eyes. And... was it growing? Adelle stared at it some more. The bug was growing. And it kept growing. Adelle prided herself on being stoic and unafraid. But that bug was freaking GIGANTIC by now. Even she had her breaking point. She backed out of her office, keeping an eye on the bug the whole time. She needed to find Toper. Maybe he could imprint someone with an exterminator.

"It was about the size of a chihuahua, Topher!" she said to him, trying to explain what the problem was.

He raised an eyebrow, disbelievingly. "Are you sure you haven't been drinking too much? I don't think bugs get that big. Well," he reconsidered. "Maybe in Australia."

"I am perfectly sober,” Adelle replied. “Mostly. Almost entirely."

Topher was still uncertain until he saw the bug out of the corner of his eye... "A chihuahua! That thing is the size of a damn great dane!" He picked up a baseball bat that he had lying around for some reason, and began plotting escape routes.

"There must be an imprint for something like this somewhere,” he told Adelle. Luckily for them, the bug, now the size of a large dog, passed by the door without noticing the two inside. A few tense moments passed as the waiting to make sure the bug was gone. Then Topher sprang into action. He found a few imprints that would work and compiled them into one.
"Ok, who do we imprint?" Topher asked after it was finished compiling.

"Whoever we choose, we should do it soon," Adelle answered. The sounds of screams could be heard from down the hall as people saw the bug.

"Lets go with Victor." Topher said "He was supposed to be getting his check up but I'm thinking he's done now..."

"Hopefully he's not on the other side of that... creature," Adelle said.
Together, they peered out of the doorway, carefully checking for the "Bug Creature from Topher's Childhood Nightmares", as he had taken to calling it in his head. It was total chaos.

They crept toward the medical facilities. Which luckily happened to be away from the direction of the loudest screams.

When they arrived at the clinic Victor was sitting patiently waiting for his sucker. "You know what would be really awesome right about now?" asked Topher, as they entered the room.
"A sucker?" Victor asked.

"... well, I was going to say a superhero, but do they have any purple ones?"

"I don't know. I'm supposed to wait for the doctor to give me one." Victor said. "I get one after I've been my best." he said.

Adelle reached into a jar and tossed Victor a handful of suckers. Topher examined Victor's bounty for a purple one, and then casually popped it into his mouth as he began talking. He made a face as he realized he'd grabbed a blue raspberry instead of the grape one he'd wanted.

"So Victor, would you like a treatment," Topher asked around the sucker.

Victor's face changed into a grin, "Yes" he said. He moved to sit in the chair, blessfully unaware of the bug and scream noises outside.

Just then they heard a loud noise from the other side of the building, almost like something had knocked down a wall.
"Do it quickly, Topher," Adelle said.

"I don't work well under pressure, ok. I'm doing my best here." he said. Topher's hands flew over the keyboard. Lists of potential imprints and skills filling the screens. "A bit of this. Maybe some of that? Wait, that doesn't make sense at all. Okay it kinda does", Topher muttered to himself.

"TOPHER," Adelle shouted."TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE HERE. Just do what you have to do and hurry! Who knows what that thing is going to do."
"ALRIGHT. This should do. I hope.", Topher added not quiet sure.

"It will just have to do. WE don't exactly have all the time in the world here," Adelle said.

The chair made the noise it usually does when imprints are placed inside Dolls. Victor makes the faces dolls usually make when they receive imprints Victor sprung from the chair and grabbed the baseball bat. He held it in one hand, laying it on his neck.
"THE BASES ARE LOADED. IT'S THE BOTTOM OF THE NINE. IT'S ALL UP TO ME. THE CROWD IS ANXIOUS"

"JUST GO.", Adelle sighed.
A group of people sprinted past the door right then, obviously terrified. Victor ran out of the room and started swinging. Bug screams and disgusting sounds of fluids could be heard behind the door.

Adelle cringed. "What did you imprint him with?" she asked.

"IT'S OUT OF THE PARK. TIME TO STEAL HOME" Victor could be heard shouting in the distance.

".....A baseball player?" Adelle asked disbelievingly.

"A little bit ballplayer, a little bit of Left 4 Dead. It's a game about four people in a zombie apocalypse-but that's not important right now", Topher said trying to get back on track.
Adelle cringed at a particularly wet sounding hit. "It does seem effective, I suppose," she said.

"It sure will be," Topher said confident in his work.

Various shades of fluids (though thankfully none appeared to be human blood) seeped from underneath the door. Adelle avoided thinking about the carpet cleaning bills. It was never in her interest to worry about those things, there were more important things to do. Like getting rid of that giant instect, which Topher seemed to have been able to do. And drinking the memory of this away. Or keeping Topher happy with his whack-a-mole.(Which is how he managed to kill the giant insect.)
"Go see if it's dead, Topher, “ she said, after the noises appeared to have stopped.

"Why do I have go? What if its still alive and it tries to eat me or something...." Topher trailed off after seeing the look Adelle gave him (it was the sternest of looks.)

"It's your job to kill it, or else you're Whack-A-Mole is out on the middle of Figuroa for anyone to have.

"Alright. I'm going, I'm going," Topher grumbled. He peeked out of the door. "It's dead!" he exclaimed happily.

And then they drank.
The End.
