1) definitely the nitrogen. sounds awesome. 2) holy crapperz you were in envirothon?!?! we are practically the same person!! just kidding, but you know, envirothon bonds you in that way. and by that i mean - i was an envirothon ULTRA NERD too :) -apoorvaTRON PS also - you're in geology?!?! holy schnikes. i wanted to be a geologist for YEARS. plus, (haha) geology rocks. and alllllll the cute boys at our school are in geophysics (that is - of the 12 or so people in our 25 000 people university who are in geology, at least 7 are very cute boys who want to work for NASA when they grow up)
hey I was a coastal fellow..twice actually. I would go for the nitrogen one. but that's mostly because fieldwork isn't really my thing, I don't like being outside when it's really hot out. they both sound pretty neat...you'll definitely have fun with whichever one you choose.
Hmm well my job is mostly fieldwork, and being outside alllll the time is really tiring, it was almost relieving to have days inside the air conditioning, even if it meant I had to sit behind a microsoft identifying caddisflies lol. And if it's more closely related to your major, and the people running it are awesome, go with it- you might get some "ins" in the geology field, which is good because lets face it, its not that big lol. But really, I loved my job 50% because of what I was doing and 50% of who I was working with, so they're both very important factors. Well good luck ladycakes, congrats on the job offers!!!! :D.
Drawing on Geology and Envirothon is key and it might, as Michelle said, open up a whole lot of other opportunities in your field. (The jobs that you can get, especially science-y jobs, are 90% contacts.) If you have past employees saying that they were really good and you think the people doing it now are cool, go for it. If worse comes to worst you'll spent half the summer bored out of you mind, in which case you will be able to understand my trials and tribulations from my box factory days. ;)
Besides, meandering streams? It doesn't get much better than that!
P.S. I have a 1m by 2m giant Canadian Flag that I'm going to bring with me to Ghana. Fuck yeah!
P.P.S. New Chris Simpson songs are up on the Zookeeper site! (Studio!!)
