Just what the doctor ordered: shoe shopping

Ahahahaha! My orthopedist is pleased with the healings so far, based on xrays and observation Tuesday evening. You can still see the holes from the screws, and one part of the fibular still needs to fully fuse with the bone, but he said that should progress more quickly now that the plate is gone. I need to get copies of the xrays now that they' ( Read more... )

I voted for the first ones, as they're totally adorable, but I also wanted to add that my chronically flat feet really love both Merrells and Danskos for supportive with good heel.

I like the Naots, since they look both totally adorable and somewhat professional.

Oh boy do I think these shoes are pretty, but on further perusal, I'm noting that one of the consistent comments of reviewers is that the shoes run narrow. My feet are pretty wide even when they're not swollen. But oh, the pretty.

Personally, I like the "Jasper" style that appears as a suggestion on the J-41 link page better. Something about the peeptoe looks off on the J-41 (a little small, maybe?), though the cutout pattern is cool.

You could also try these: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/52419563/c/209433.html
I tried on a pair of Softspots the other day, and they were so comfy. They are cheaper than Naots, so if this pair might not fit well after the swelling goes down, you wouldn't be out as much money.

I vote against mules - I think they make people walk funny to keep them on, and also discourage a good healthy stride ( ... )

I guess of the 4 choices I like the Naot best, but I second and third the votes for Danskos and clogs in general. Clogs are my prefered footwear, and although I have a very...special...relationship with my 10-year old Birkenstock Bostons, Dansko Professional Clogs got my through my internship and residency, and I'm still wearing them. Because of my narrow feet, I have very limited options in the Dansko product catalogue, but I swear by them.

Here's a pair of Danskos that are a similar style to your Naots: http://zapp.me/7551024
Check out the Closed-back Professional as well, I think you'll really like them, once you get used to them.
