That could be true. Were all of the maps designed by the captives? If those jerks gave out any information of the desert instead, I don't trust it.

I'm not sure who came up with the maps, but I've heard mixed things over the journals. If I find out anythin' I'll let ya know, I wouldn't mind knowin' what the heck is goin' on here myself.
