Jamie was outside, smoking a cigarette. It was a clear day, though it was chilly, but fortunately he had brought that denim jacket (that his parents insisted he leave at home). They had said Italy got cold, and for sure that meant it would get colder than Texas.

For Brandon particularly, though anyone can join in if the time is right.

Brandon eyed the cigarette for a moment, clicking his tongue disapprovingly. "You have any idea what those things do to your lungs?"

"Turn em into tar-covered and useless organs," he took a drag. "Did I guess right?"

That was a new response. "Er -- yes. This is where you're supposed to swear not to touch another cigarette and give me the pack."

He shrugged. "Nahhh, I'm alright. i take it you don't want one?"
