I dislocated my shoulder yesterday while I was driving and
tepui had to take me to the hospital. This new sling is much more comfortable than last time.
Yesterday, I was driving to pick up Anna to go shopping while
tepui was going to Jeremy's defense dinner. (Congrats, Jeremy!) Damion and I decided to drive separately and I left first. I decided that it was better to go down forbes and then negley instead of penn because I didn't want to have to u-turn. So, I was in the turn lane at Forbes and Murray at the traffic light. It was a long traffic light because of the pedestrian signal so I decided to put the stuff in the front seat to the back. I lifted all the stuff (including my purse, and empty shopping bags) and threw it into the back seat when I heard a big pop. At that time, I pretty thought to myself "Oh Crap!". Threw the car in park, turned on the emergency signal, opened my window and waved the people behind to go ahead. At that point, I was pretty much sitting in the car freaking out. I couldn't get to my phone because well, I threw it into the back seat. I was contemplating getting out of the car to get it but that's 1. very painful 2. I would have to walk into traffic by slightly ticked off drivers having to go around me. Fortunately (ok very, very, very fortunately) Damion was driving by in his car at that time and saw me looking rather panicked. We switched cars and he took me to the ER.
I got in right away because we went to the Monroeville hospital and everyone there was very nice. I was heavily drugged for most of the relocating procedure and follow up xray so I don't remember it but Damion was there. It didn't hurt as much as last time while it was dislocated and my arm can still support it's own weight! yay!
I can still type and will probably not be driving home for Christmas but maybe New Years but we'll see.
