WHEN: Sunday night.
Chibiusa and Bart had spared no expense for the decorations. With a limited budget, they had nevertheless been able to find endless amounts sparkly, gaudy garland and tinsel. The entire mansion looked as if a red and green sparkle fairy had thrown up joy and happiness. Coming in from the cold was such a relief. The house was warm and cozy, with candles lit on every available surface. It smelled like a cross between the candles and evergreen boughs that were wrapped around them.
A sumptuous feast was laid out across the table in the dining room, steaming happily and begging to be dug into. Turkey, ham, stuffing, yams, cranberry, and all the traditional fare of a Western Christmas dinner. On the fringes were some Japanese dishes, a few platters of sushi, dumplings, and sauteed vegetables. In the kitchen, dessert was waiting -- pecan pie, cakes, cupcakes, and cookies -- along with wines, ciders, and punch to drink.
The large living room was packed with extra chairs and large cushions on the floor. A fire crackled merrily in the fireplace beneath a hearth hung with four stockings. A large decorated tree was the focus of the room, beneath which the gift exchange presents may be placed.
