[Before she opens her eyes she knows it's wrong. Serenity does not enfold her, embrace her as she does. The voices of the crew are gone. Simon is gone.
It is this thought that makes her sit up straight in bed. Simon is gone.
She needs Simon. He's her rock, her stability, her stabilizer -
But everything feels quiet. Very...oddly...
There are no thoughts, except her own. It's as though everyone else in the world has disappeared. She's been left completely alone. All by herself. Can she survive? Without sharing her mind - because it's really too small for her own self, never mind everyone else's - if there was food. A way to produce the food as well. She can't live off of protein mixes forever. Or rather one could if they were forced to, really, but fresh vegetables at least would help maintain the correct chemical balance in the body as well as sanity, probably -
She smells coffee.
Coffeemakers will only work by themselves for so long. She should turn it off anyway, because caffeine is very bad for you, it's a drug like any other, and she doesn't want any drugs.
Her clothes are here. - no, they aren't hers. Someone undressed her, put her in a nightgown. How rude.
The door is wooden, well oiled. It barely creaks. The floor is cool.
There's a device here. It looks like a very, very old telecommunications apparatus.
She picks it up.
Is anyone on the other side?]
Awful quiet in here.
