Day Ten - Hide and Seek

Oct 16, 2008 07:21

Who: Ais, James, Jaime, Mal, open
Where: Western plain, equidistant between the portals
When: Late morning-ish.
Rating: PG 13ish. Maybe R for a swear.

Status: closed, completed
Summary: Ais, Jaime, Mal, and James arrive in Riverfell. Despite Jaime verging on a panic attack for most of their time there, they manage to get started in the right direction.

Unfortunately, they're noticed before they notice anyone around to notice them. Jane draws the proverbial first blood with her attack against Mal, though Fenrir's quick to join in the fun by casting the Crucio curse on James after Sylar distracted him by tapping his shoulder with power.

Aisling is quick to send out her dogs - one manages to distract Jane long enough for Mal to get Jaime closer to their goal. Sylar is not so easily deterred by firedogs, and eventually has to be caged before James has a chance to confound him. Fenrir is dispatched this way as well - distracted by Aisling's fire, the spell on James drops long enough for him to attack Fenrir.

After Jaime and Mal get inside, Ais is hit by one of Jane's attacks - pretty intensely. It's enough to drop her until James confounds her as well. Once Ais is up again, she's still sure her back's ripped open but she heads down to the dungeon where the others have found the ball. They also found a girl to take back with them; Aisling isn't about to abandon the slave to whatever torture Acevona might visit upon her. The four of them (with Morgan in tow) return to DauphinMare via the trigger stones.

Ais landed in a crouch, and she wished there was a way to warn the others there was a slight drop between the portal and the ground. She moved away and glanced around, studying the landscape. Giant strtch of empty plain, making them fantastic targets for anyone with distance attacks. Lovely. Since she didn't know which direction she'd be startingin, she waited for James and the others to arrive.

Despite not being in charge, she tried to think how best to handle this. Whoever had point was going to get the most attention, that much she was sure of. So who could handle the most attention? She thought she could - Mal had to look after Jaime, and James was their big gun for this one. So unless they protested, Ais thought she'd take point.

She heard the portal make a faint noise, and she took another step back, grinning when James emerged. "See you made it," she said to him, watching the portal to wait for the other two.

Jaime didn't look pleased, but Ais wasn't surprised at all. She smiled reassuringly to the girl before she glanced up to Mal, assuming he was right behind Jaime.
