I believe at least two people on my flist posted their impressions of the movie based on the Broadway musical based on the music of ABBA. I remember people saying that Pierce Brosnan shouldn't sing.
I was given the movie as a present from my mother-in-law. All the 'girls' in the family got a copy. I figured it was light enough to watch as I ironed clothes. Mr. Bond started singing, and I winced. Thankfully time didn't stand still and the moment passed. I thought I was safe. I don't recall anybody mentioning how much they gave him to sing. He started up again, and I gripped my iron tightly, concentrating on forcing out those wrinkles rather than listening to the TV. The moment passed, and after a cleansing breath, I thought I could continue, but I was wrong! It was rather painful. I was really hoping Donna would leave him writhing in emotional pain and go off with Colin Firth, but sadly that wasn't to be.
I also saw Wall-E and Despereaux this weekend. Both were very good.
