For the record, Metal Township, Pennsylvania, is not nearly as metal as it should be.

It's a bit disappointing to be poked in the arms 60 times only to find out that I'm not allergic to anything.  On the other hand, it's a relief to know that my symptoms are not caused by the dusty bookshelves in our bedroom.  Next step, a sleep study to see if my sleep is causing the symptoms rather than the other way around ( Read more... )

Over the past few weeks, we have become horribly addicted to watching Top Gear on BBC America.  Sure they feature cars I'll never see in my lifetime and use some improper stereotypes to describe people and cars, but I do laugh out loud every episode.

It looks like we're finally going to see Indiana Jones tonight. That's not a bad reward for surviving the first day back at work!

In response to a discussion at TBR, they do have Drake's Cakes in the grocery store down here.  A box of Funny Bones followed me home tonight.

I made it back to PA early this afternoon.  I got to snuggle the kids last night at my parents' house and play with them a bit this morning before I left them there.  I believe they did look up from the computer when they told me they'd miss me this week ( Read more... )

I made it to my parents' house. Traffic wasn't as bad as I feared with the return trip taking only 20 minutes more than the trip going up. It was annoying, though. I thought of a few ideas that I wanted to write down, but instead of grinding to a halt so I could write, traffic kept creeping at 25mph. It was not so good actually, but I did it ( Read more... )

The kiddos and I made it to my parents' house in CT. It wasn't too bad, leaving at 1pm and getting here at 4:30p. Maybe another year I'll drop them off, eat dinner, and continue on to TBR so I can play in session 1. That'll be another year, though. I forgot to mention it last week, but the opening scenes for Transformers 2 were shooting in the Lehigh Valley.  The retired blast furnaces of Bethlehem Steel briefly received new life as stand-ins for a Chinese steel plant.  According to the newspaper, there were famous people, military helicopters, and big booms on the other side of South ( Read more... )
