Melbourne accommodation

I am asking this for a friend:

My friend is going to do a 2 months internship in RMIT.  Does anyone knows of any affordable temporary accommodation in Melbourne for students? It can be campus accommodation, a home stay, apartment sharing anything.

The period of stay is from June to July (2 months).

What's the definition of affordable? It really differs according to what they're expecting for x amount of money. A no brainer if you're in a hurry is always the UniLodge which is located right next to Melbourne Central station in the city. Many students stay there to begin with after arriving in Melbourne until they find longer term accommodation.

Apartment sharing is viable but 2 months may be too short for tenants to consider. But there are many many sharing options available, it's just a little tough to look them up unless you're already in town. You'll see the aids on the student boards on campus and stuck up on street poles around the CBD.

Thanks! I will check back with her to see if she's found anything yet. Will drop you a mail if she would consider a serviced apartment. :)
