Hahahahaha, NO. And considering the teacher I worked with last year - and despised, as well as another one I didn't like - both hailed from Calvin Hill, I'd rather die. (It has nothing to do with the kids, just with the type of teachers they turn out. I'd absolutely rather not work with people like them anymore.)
It is with New Haven's Biggest Employer, and after 7-8 other interviews for POS places, I'm very happy to have this job. (More details are on facebookif you're really interested; I'm a little paranoid about this blog inasmuch as I use it for so much venting.)
I have an orientation meeting with the director on the 12th and I start going into the classroom and putting it together and meeting the other teacher - who is in Norway (everyone travels but me wtf!) - on the 18th. Then the Antiques Roadshow is that Saturday. EVERYTHING IS SO EXCITING, ELIZABETH! Right off the hop at this job I make $7,000 more, I'm not someone's bitch underling but a proper co-teacher, there will only be 10 kids, they're my favorite age, and the health care benefits are unreal - NO COPAYS whenever I go to a doctor and pretty much everything is covered.
I am so excited, I can't even tell you. This past year has been one of the worst of my life and it was nearly all job-related so things are looking up, I hope!
