Today has been at once incredibly up and down and quite banal.  I almost got killed by some fucking asshole New York driver who sailed into my lane, without signaling, while I was still in it as he was too impatient to slow down for the car which was turning in front of him.  I hit my horn so hard I'm suprised I didn't break it, and still ended

yeah i was once talking about this hateful lack-of-signaling phenomenon with a new yorker. to my astonishment, she actually defended the practice of not signaling, claiming that if you signal in nyc, people will know what you're trying to do and they will prevent you from doing it. so she thinks that putting your signal on is a way for people to take advantage of you basically.
um....i guess that is true for new york city driving but...it doesn't really apply anywhere else.
